I’m very sorry about your mom. My dad died of lung cancer in ‘05 and it really sucked. He had really no hope when he found out so at least your mom has a good chance of improving, and even the tiniest speck of hope is wonderful in that situation!
Your seizures are interesting to me; my twin sister has been having seizures for a couple of years, and I wonder if they’re the same kind. She starts smelling weird stuff and tasting something then has it, then she feels like everything is very “new” and she doesn’t remember how common stuff tastes, like coffee. I haven’t had them but I’m always on the lookout. She’s depressed she’s going to have to take Lamictal for the rest of her life but I’m just glad for her there is something that she CAN take for the rest of her life. Take care!! —–a fan

Yeah, I always have problems getting the right gauge…well actually I never use the exact same yarn as in the pattern and I usually make a gauge swatch but it’s hard to figure out exactly how many more/less stitches to add to the pattern…

i’m very sorry to hear about your mom’s diagnosis. my aunt got a devastating diagnosis of terminal liver and lung cancer and was given 6 months (or less) to live…about 2 years ago. so, even though it may seem like this is the worst thing that could be happening, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

on a much, much lighter note- i’m totally with you on the ‘no-halter-neck.’ i’ve had terrible luck trying to find a new bathing suit this year because if it’s not a tube top (yeah, right… like i’m going to squeeze my fat butt into one of those…), it’s a godforsaken halter top. blurg. i should just get one of those burkinis and be done with it. hah.

lastly, i hate it when people don’t beta test their patterns. i can’t tell you how many patterns i’ve purchased that were just garbage. with, of course, the major exception being yours.
