GourmetAmigurumi

Last night my husband and I drove back from a weekend away at my grandparents’ cottage in Michigan.  We had a relaxing time.  Terry read down at the beach and I stayed up in the cottage knitting and watching cooking shows.  Which is my idea of a rockin’ good time :)

You asked a couple of good questions after my last post and I will try to answer them here.  I still do plan to publish patterns in my etsy shop.  It just won’t be my primary focus.  And where have the tutorials gone?  I have taken them down for the time being.  I plan to polish them up with better photos and more precise instructions and offer them in my etsy shop for a small fee.   This will help defray my studio costs which will make it possible for me to continue making art.

Many of you have asked if/when I am doing another book. So I just wanted to say that I don’t have any plans for one.  Recently, I have been contemplating where I want to go with my work, what I want to focus on going forward.  My gut feeling, which I listen too most of the time, is that making finished art pieces is more important to me than anything else.  The sense of satisfaction I get when making amigurumis for the pure love of it is fantastic.

As I have mentioned before I would also like to illustrate protraits of my dollies and well.  One of my favorite parts of making amigurumi is giving them unique personalities and I think painting their portraits would take this idea even further.  Some of you know that I have made a few false starts in this area.  So I fully expect it will take me a year or so to be comfortable working in paint again.  Maybe I should take some illustration classes…..
