Jan Messent is a friggen GENIUS! I think she’s way underrated and deserves a closer look. I got “Knitted Gardens” out from the library and have been drooling over the designs ever since. Check out her Amazon page. I haven’t knitted up any of her patterns yet, but ALL of the knitting books are on my wish list.

I’ve only recently found your site (I know–where have I been?) purchased a copy of your book, and am currently making Benny the Monkey–a Christmas gift for a new nephew. Books and patterns like that make me wish I had a time-turner like Hermione Granger…complete dork, I know!
What an interesting book. I have seen crochet patterns like this, but rarely knitting ones. It is interesting to see a designer explore this style in knitting.
